The historic Drury Plaza Hotel is nestled on the banks of the Arkansas River in the heart of Wichita. Constructed in 1921, the original Broadview Hotel was a premier destination in the Midwest, hosting famous guests including Franklin D. Roosevelt. Our renovation preserved original architecture and design, including a mosaic mural by Native American artist Blackbear Bosin. The hotel is LEED® Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council for energy efficiency.
Tour Offerings

Frank Lloyd Wright
Allen House
The Frank Lloyd Wright Allen House, built in Wichita, Kansas, in 1915-1918 for former Kansas Governor Henry Allen and his wife Elsie, stands as a significant example of Wright's mature Prairie School architecture. Considered by Wright himself as "among my best," it is often regarded as the last of his true Prairie houses. The L-shaped design emphasizes horizontal lines, natural materials like brick and stone, and a seamless connection between the interior and the surrounding landscape, featuring a prominent water garden. Inside, Wright's design principles are evident in the open floor plan, built-in furniture, and art glass windows, creating a harmonious and unified living environment.
Woolsey Hall
Barton School of Business
Woolsey Hall is named for the Wichita couple who provided the lead gift to the WSU Foundation’s fundraising campaign. The business school plans to move to the new building in 2022 from Clinton Hall, which has been its home since 1970.

The structure is a three-level, LEED-certified building — the first building on the Wichita State campus to be LEED-certified. It was designed by the architectural team of GastingerWalker of Kansas City and Gensler Chicago. Dondlinger Construction of Wichita won the competitive bid to build the facility.
